Pike Research, a market research and consulting firm whose focus is on clean technology recently released a new report focusing on Energy Efficient Homes. The report estimates that between now and 2014, homeowners will begin increasing their spending on energy efficient improvements.

An Energy Efficient Mortgage (EEM) allows a borrower to finance the entire (100%) expense of a cost effective “energy package” when made in conjunction with a VA purchase loan or a refinance loan.

Effective January 1, 2011, sellers of residential properties will be required to provide buyers with an evaluation of energy consumption. SB 437 (2007 Session) added the following to the Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) which outlines this new requirement:
