Fannie Mae Confirms its Short Sale Commissions Policy

Fannie Mae has reconfirmed its short sale commission policy with the NAR. On February 24, 009, Fannie Mae sent an announcement to it’s servicers which instructed them not to negotiate commissions on short sales unless the commission exceeds 6%. However, their recent announcement also served as a reminder that other 3rd parties to the transactions that are not Fannie Mae loans may effect the commissions.

Fannie Mae has also established an appeals process for NAR members who have has issues with their commissions on Fannie Mae Short Sales.
